Family Beginner Lesson

This 2 hour family lesson is similar to our beginner lesson but is directed at making sure both children and parents are comfortable with their new skills

Parents will learn all of the basics of climbing:

• How to put on a harness
• tie-in with a figure 8 follow through
• set-up a grigri belay device
• complete thorough self and partner checks
• communicate efficiently
• belay and lower a climber under control.

Children will learn how to put on their harness and complete a safety check of a figure 8 follow-through knot. 

• If time and ability permit we will introduce how to tie the knot, complete checks and how to belay
