Family Beginner Lesson
This 2 hour family lesson is similar to our beginner lesson but is directed at making sure both children and parents are comfortable with their new skills
Parents will learn how to:
- put on a harness
- tie-in with a figure 8 follow through
- set-up a grigri belay device
- complete thorough self and partner checks
- communicate efficiently
- belay and lower a climber under control.
Children will learn how to put on their harness and complete a safety check of a figure 8 follow-through knot. If time and ability permit we will introduce how to tie the knot, complete checks and how to belay and lower.
You'll be doing lots of climbing so be sure to wear comfortable, athletic clothing and feel free to bring a water bottle!
The cost of the course includes access to the facility and equipment rental for the course sessions.
Minimum 2 participants per booking, at least 1 participant must be age 18+
Children participating in this lesson should be ages 4+.
Every child must be accompanied by an adult, 1 adult can bring up to 2 children.
